This, “technical” response included, is why I hate hate hate Windows.
This isn't rare. It's common.
Why does my newly-issued work laptop blue screen and immediately reboot any time I switch between docked and not by just closing the lid, rather than “suspending” first? Why does having Outlook running some times (but not all the time!) mean that the screen saver doesn't kick in? Why do the USB ports on the docking station just cease working when the laptop is undocked/suspended, then reattached later?
Same reason: Windows. Not that these symptoms wouldn't appear under another operating system, but at least you'd have a prayer of figuring out why. With Windows? Just shrug and accept it.
HATE.
