But wait! There's more!

This is a follow up to this post from last week.

I started assigning resources to tasks, and then I get this:

Actually, I'm not doing any of those things. It's a task that requires communication among three people, and I scheduled it for the time it was going to take. So, obviously, I'd like more options.

Too bad those more options don't fit in my screen real estate:

What is this, didn't you fuckers listen when we yelled at the web “developers” (and I use that term as loosely as possible) for making assumptions (or, worse, demands) about the size of monitor/browser window?

It fits just fine… if the dumb “wizard” window, which there doesn't seem to be any way to disable (you can close it, but then it'll open again when you switch views) weren't there. Whoops.

And, to add insult to injury, there doesn't seem to be any way to say “all of these people are involved in this task, and the time span is just saying that they'll work on it periodically in there, and complete it by the end”.

Update: Oh, and the next one's a real sucker punch. Go through, assign a bunch of “resources” to “tasks”… and then notice that the tasks I'd scheduled to last a span of three days and six days each have now had their start date (but not start time) switched to be the same as their finishing date. Why? All I did was click on resources, then click assing. I didn't say anything about dates. Perhaps it just assumed that with this many people the task would be shorter, as indicated by the moronic dialogs above? So, now I go set things back the way I want them. What the fuck!

Update 2: And when I go to reassign the dates, for instance “start on 4/12″, “end on 4/14″, then click OK, the time doesn't change. I open it up again, set the dates again (4/12 was magically changed back to 4/13), then clear the “length” field and click okay. Oh, now it worked. So what I should be doing is setting the start date and the length, not the start and end dates? Why? Why does the interface basically hide that fact? Why did it shrink the task into the end date, when it shrank it, but enlarge it from the start date (just checked, that's what it does)? None of these things make any sense.
